Impose term limits on all elected officials

The idea of career politicians who look out for their donors and special interests over regular Americans, creates a system that works for the political ruling class, not the American people. To ensure new voices are heard and new ideas are cycled in, we should limit federal terms in office to two in the Senate (12 years) and 4 in the House (8). This is enough time to be impactful, but not so much time where the politician loses touch and perspective with the grassroots. State governments should enact the same limits, as many have already.

In Illinois, with Democrat boss Mike Madigan holding office since 1971, we see the devastating effects that has on our taxes, economy, and ethics in government. 79 year old Speaker Nancy Pelosi shows us similar problems in DC.
