Peace through strength, as President Ronald Reagan promoted is still relevant today. We must provide our fighting men and women with top flight equipment and support to protect our nation. We have important allies around the world and we must form military and trade partnerships that are free enterprise oriented and fair. America cannot be the policeman of the world, but we must stand besides our key allies in hot regions of the world. This includes, but is not limited to, Israel, India, Italy, Great Britain and Poland.
The cost to our society of corruption drives up the cost of government, by some estimates, as much as 20 percent. Corrupt bureaucrats require payoffs to fulfill basic functions like zoning and road building. Favors by politicians of a donor getting a grant over a non-donor makes the system unbalanced and unfair. Those who abuse our system must be prosecuted and jailed to deter future behavior.
This requires human intelligence, real, vetted whistleblowers, and strong ethics ordinances.
